Here are some strategies we implemented:
  • Initiated Kindergarten Readiness leadership team representing staff from District 200 Teaching and Learning, community education and leadership from non-public, center-based and home daycare/ preschool providers to develop a plan for community outreach
  • Quarterly meetings between Tilden Pre-kindergarten teachers and Hastings elementary kindergarten teachers to discuss kindergarten readiness
  • Tilden preschool targeted instruction to letter recognition
  • Hastings Community Education hosted professional development sessions throughout the 2018-2019 school year for providers related to kindergarten readiness
