Superintendent Dr. Tammy Champa

Dr. Tammy Champa has served as the superintendent of Hastings Public Schools since July 2023. Before joining the Hastings School District, Superintendent Champa was the Pine Island School District superintendent for eleven years. She began her educational career as an elementary teacher and served as a community education director, elementary principal, and middle school principal.

Superintendent Champa holds a bachelor’s degree, an educational leadership master’s degree, a specialist degree from Winona State University, and a doctorate from Bethel University. In addition, Dr. Champa has certification in human capital leadership and the national superintendent program.

In addition to her passion for teaching, learning, and leading, Champa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys running half marathons, mountain biking, and road biking.

As the Superintendent of Hastings, Champa is proud and honored to serve the community and looks forward to continuing to enhance the quality of education, foster a supportive environment, and work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to ensure the success and well-being of every student.
