The term for a School Board member is four years. School Board members are elected in even years at Hastings Public Schools as of June 26, 2024.

The next board election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026 for three (3) seats with terms expiring December 31, 2026.

The period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No.200 shall begin on July 14th, 2026 and shall close on July 28th, 2026. An affidavit of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk, Independent School District No. 200, 1000 W 11th St Hastings, MN 55033 and the $2 filing fee paid prior to 5:00 o'clock p.m. on July 28, 2026. Please note: District offices are closed on Fridays during the filing period. Candidates should plan accordingly when submitting affidavits.
