Hastings School Board Selects Superintendent
At a special board meeting on May 23, 2023, the Hastings School Board unanimously voted to select Dr. Tamara Champa as the district’s next superintendent.
“Dr. Champa has the qualifications and skills identified by the School Board and community stakeholders to lead Hastings Public Schools. Her student-centered decision-making, focus on collaboration, and demonstrated leadership make her the right fit for our District. We are looking forward to working together for the good of our students,” said Lisa Hedin, School Board Chair.
The School Board will be conducting contract negotiations with Dr. Champa and a contract is expected to be approved by the School Board at a May 31 special school board meeting.
The pending start date for Dr. Champa will be July 1, 2023.
SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH SURVEY
The results of the Superintendent Search Survey were presented at the Special Board Meeting on April 24th by MSBA. The results of the survey have been linked below for community members to review at their convenience. The Hastings School Board has determined that the results from this survey will be the tool used throughout the remainder of the Superintendent Search Process as the voice of the stakeholders. Again, thank you to all those who participated, your feedback has been valuable in this process.
