Screening: Vision & Hearing

Yearly mass screening is done for the following age groups:
Kindergarten, Second and Fourth grades
.

Other students are screened on an “as needed” basis for the following reasons: teacher or parent concern, referral for special education, or new to the school district. Parents may see the status of their child's most recent hearing and vision screening on School View.

Vouchers for free eye exams and glasses are available to those students in the Hastings School District who have a need and meet the qualifications. The requirements are listed on this link. Please contact your building nurse if you have questions.
