Who: All children ages 3 to 5 need to attend a district screening prior to attending Kindergarten. (Preferably between the ages of 3 ½ and 4 ½ )
Why: This is a mandated program by the State of Minnesota. Valuable developmental information in the areas of: cognition, social-emotional development, self-care skills, speech/language, hearing, vision, height and weight come from this process in one convenient location and in one day.
Where: Hastings Screenings will take place at the Tilden Community Center 310 River Street.
When: Please see attached Preschool calendar for possible dates for 2011-12
***All kindergartners in need of a screening will be our priority in September.
· All other 3-5 year olds will be contacted after the end of September.

Additional Information: If you are currently receiving the Early Childhood Family Education brochure, you are registered in the school district and will receive an appointment packet by mail at the appropriate time for your child to attend screening.
