Seizures

Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces seizures affecting a variety of mental and physical functions. It can also be called a seizure disorder. When a person has two or more unprovoked seizures, they are considered to have epilepsy.

Students who have epilepsy or a seizure disorder should have a seizure action plan at school to acknowledge and meet their health needs during the school day. This may include an emergency seizure medication which is kept at school. Seizure action plans need to be updated at the start of each school year.
