3rd Grade Reading 2019



Here are some strategies we implemented:
  • Began literacy professional development initiative focusing on structuring lessons to gradually release responsibility of rigorous literacy tasks to the students.
  • Refinement of early literacy scope and sequence.
  • Continued process to unpack k-12 reading standards to ensure instruction is appropriately targeting the rigor expected.
  • Emphasis on rituals and routines to increase reading stamina and build skills for student self-selection of "good fit" books.
