12/5/2016 10:46 AMPlease follow the directions below to opt into this new system.
If you know the cell phone you wish to be contacted on, is already listed with the school district, feel free to opt into the service by skipping Step 1, and going directly to Step 2.
Step 1 - Confirm Your Wireless
Cell Phone Numbers in our Student Database
Elementary Parents should have updated or added
their cell phone numbers manually by adding or correcting their student’s
Information Card at their Elementary Open House in August, if you do not
know if you have a cell phone listed on your student’s Information Card,
you may check in one of the following ways:
- Elementary Parents - Contact your elementary school site
- Secondary Parents - Infinite Campus Portal or your school site
- Or Contact Deanna Werner by email email@example.com with the following
Name of the Student, School and Grade Level
Cell number you wish to have on file.
you have confirmed that you have a cell phone number on file with the school
district, continue to step 2 below.
Step 2 – “Opting In”
to Use New Service
Once you have determined
that your cell phone is on file with the district simply text the word join to the number 56360
If you just added your
cell phone number to our database you will need to wait a day until you opt
into the service – it will take a day for our system to upload the new
information to our system.
You’ll know you were
successful if you receive the following reply message from SchoolMessenger
Alerts saying: “Thanks for joining school alerts”
You’ll want to repeat
the opt-in process for any wireless numbers that you have listed in our
database on which you wish to receive the text messages.
note, although the district does not charge for this service, it does not pay
for text message charges that may be incurred for sending or receiving text
messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges that you may
incur to your cell phone.
If you have any
questions please feel free to contact Deanna Werner in the District Office via
email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at
