For the opportunity to access SchoolView, every parent/guardian is asked to act in a responsible, ethical and legal manner.   Parents are to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Not share his/her password with others.

2. Not attempt to alter, harm or destroy data.

3. Not  use SchoolView for any illegal activity, including violation of Data Privacy laws.

4. Not access data or any account owned by another parent.

5. Will notify ISD 200 immediately if s/he identifies a security problem with SchoolView.

6. Understands that s/he be denied access if s/he is identified as a security risk to SchoolView.

To initiate a SchoolView account, please read over the expectations then request your initial access key by contacting either:

Once you have an access key, follow these set-up instructions.

Please make sure you use one of the following supported web browsers (for either Mac or PC).

Chrome Version 4.1.249 or higher                   Firefox Version 2.0 or higher

Internet Explorer Version 6.0 or higher            Safari Version 4.0.5 or higher

Then follow these steps: The procedure you follow may vary depending on the browser you are using.

1. Log on to www.hastings.k12.mn.us (Hastings Public Schools’ web site).

2. On the top bar select: SchoolView

3. Select: Parent, Guardian, Student Login to SchoolView

4. Select the “I haven’t registered yet” button.

5. Enter 0200 in the district box.

6. Enter “Your SchoolView access key” box (from the separate sheet of paper). Your personalized access key

This key is case sensitive. Note:  The key is lengthy but will only be used on your initial entrance into the system.

7. Select the “continue” button.

Note: If you make an error in entering your access key, you will be prompted to correct any data entry error.

8. Validate your SchoolView access key by confirming the birth date of one of your children enrolled in

District 200. Enter the birth date and select the “continue” button.

9. Think of a user name and enter it in the box. Please write down your user name; you will use it for all future logins.

10. Think of a password and enter it in the box. Select a password you will not forget. Your password should follow the password rules as posted. (Please consider printing this page or writing down this password and placing it in a secure location).

11. Confirm your new password.

12. Enter an email address: This address will be used to access the 24/7 Self Help feature and supply you with the answers to your security questions if you select I forgot my password.

13. Select and answer the questions that will be used to issue you a new password in the event you forget your password. Use the pull-down menu to select the question. Type the answers in the appropriate boxes.

14. Select “log-in.”

Note: If you make an error in entering your user name, password or question answers, you will be prompted to correct any data entry error. You are now logged into your account.

15. Select the child’s name whose information you wish to view. Currently we are displaying: Schedule,

Grades, Attendance, Heath, Test History, Emergency Contacts and Transcript (please note that this may verify from HMS to HHS).

16. When you have finished viewing information about your child, be sure to select the Log Out link to exit the page. Never leave this page open, as others may see your confidential information.

17. You can return to SchoolView at any time by logging on at the address found in step 1 of these

instructions. When you log on to SchoolView in the future, you will only need to enter district 0200,

your user name and password (which you established during your initial log in).

18. If you ever wish to change your password, select the “My Account Change Password”.

- Enter your old password in the space provided.

- Enter your new password twice in the spaces provided.

- Select the “submit” button.

NOTE: Passwords are valid for a maximum of 365 days.

Accounts that are inactive for more than 365 days will be deleted.
